“...a brand new four-track EP that sees the band take the (already) hardcore metal slant of Cell 46 into a tighter, more complex mesh of crushing riffs, pounding rhythms, electronic samples and grating vocals. Certainly not music to chill out to, Spin's latest, particularly the abrasively direct "Feed Your Mind", captures the energy of fellow Maltese prime pummellers Beheaded but with a mighty electronic spark to boot!” Mike Bugeja - Lib66 for Spin (2005) “Brash, bold and in your face, Spin are caustic noise mongers much like Misery Loves Co. Setting new stakes of severity, this industrial metal riveted with samples & programming crushes the cities that have rebuilt since they were last obliterated by Strapping Young Lad. Lead shouter Simon Deguara takes his cue from Max Cavalera, managing to register a previously unseen score on the Richter Scale. ... Cell 46 is a sonically intense, well-recorded album full of adrenalin guaranteed to unleash the fury.” Aaron - Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles for Cell 46 (2002)
“... Spin is the real deal. Vicious grooves, brutal riffs, snarling, angry vocals and thick, intense production - it's all here! ... A powerful EP in its own right, and bursting with potential seething below the surface.” Keith - Infernal Combustion for Cell 46 (2002) “Call it sick Nu-Metal, jump noisy metal....this is pure energy...raw energy!! I hope I didn't afraid anybody with the word nu-metal....this isn't Limp Bizkit!!!! It sound a bit like a mix between Soulfly, Disturbed & Raunchy. Powerfull groovy guitar, a lot of sampler a weird effect in the vocals, Spin as push the boundaries of groovy metal! It's a self-release but let me tell you that the production of Cell 46 have been well done! It sounds good as hell! Speaking of today society and technologies, Spin didn't re-invent music but what they are doing, they are doing the right way and a bit different from the others! It you like it when it's groovy just SPIN it baby!!” Patrick - The Darkest Hours for Cell 46 (2002) ”Spin offer you a huge helping of modern hardcore heavy duty heavy metal ...” Derek - The Diskery for Cell 46 (2002) |

“In its full violent version this quintet spurs chunky drum beats, bold guitar riffs, & an overdose of samples. The promo comes in full colour art worked sleeve & holds seven tracks of pure Maltese hard-core style. The sound on this one is excellent & one can easily mosh until he drops. One of the best promo for this year” Nick - Forbidden Rite for Cell 46 (2002)
“These guys are great! They have a lot of different styles of Metal tossed into their sound. They mix in some elements of Thrash, Hardcore, Death Metal, Nu-Metal & heavy metal to create their sound. I liked the hard hitting groove they have in their music the most. It's the driving point of this band! There are lots of breakdowns, stop & starts, slow to fast rhythms & more in their music. The vocals are done in a Death Metal growl, clean melodic Metal vocal style & a Hardcore type scream! They reminded me of the bands HATEBREED, old HELMET, old SEPULTURA, MACHINE HEAD & a bit of FEAR FACTORY all roled into one!!! -” Burt - Beowolf Broductions for Cell 46 (2002)
“... a searing yet hugely rhythmic collage of brutality that grooves oddly and effortlessly. Impressive.” Martin - BW&BK KnuckleTracks for Cell 46 (2002) |
